What is AR & VR

Augmented Reality (AR) is an enhanced version of the real physical world that is achieved through the use of digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli and delivered via technology. It is a growing trend among companies involved in Education, research and gaming.

Virtual Reality (VR) is a computer-generated environment with scenes and objects that appear to be real, making the user feel they are immersed in their surroundings. This environment is perceived through a device known as a Virtual Reality headset or helmet.

Need of AR, VR Zone in schools

Virtual reality can be used to enhance student learning and engagement. VR education can transform the way educational content is delivered; it works on the premise of creating a virtual world real or imagined and allows users not only see it but also interact with it. Being immersed in what you’re learning motivates you to fully understand it. It’ll require less cognitive load to process the information.

So, in summary virtual reality helps education by creating immersive lessons that are engaging, memorable and impactful for students. These VR experiences improve learning outcomes and help students build important interpersonal skills such as empathy, collaboration, and social skills needed for the future. Virtual reality is a hugely powerful teaching tool and the future of education!

Benefits to the students

  • Virtual reality is a great tool to give students a fresh perspective and real-life experience of the thing they are studying without even being there directly.
  • This can also let the students have the experience of the past events and allow them to have a look at all these by just being in their class rooms.
  • When students read about something, they often want to experience it.With VR, they aren’t limited to word descriptions or book illustrations; they can explore the topic and see how things are put together.
  • Increase knowledge area.
  • Active experience rather than just passive information.
  • Helps to understand complex concepts, subjects, or theories.
  • No distractions while the study.
  • Boosts student’s creativity.
  • Expands learner’s efficiency to gain knowledge.

Benefits to Teachers

Virtual reality removes the barriers of the traditional classroom. Instead, learning can be accessed from anywhere. Likewise, VR can be used to bring external specialists into schools; adding extra value and relevance to lessons.

It provides educators many new ways to motivate and engage their students and to assist those who may struggle in a traditional classroom. VR can be used to remove distractions and immerse students in the subject matter at hand. Even the most dispirited student can get the most out of their lessons.
